People are worried that AI will take everyone's jobs. We've been here before
- bryanrasmussen 3y agoThe fact that we have always managed to get our way out of civilization destroying problems in the past does not mean that we will always manage to get our way out of civilization destroying problems forever. However I wonder if there isn't a lag when technological development has expanded to such a point where old ways of working can automated or optimized so that a good number of the workplace can be replaced. At that point businesses rid of a large number of workers, but the new ways of working that will be opened up by automation have not yet opened up . I suppose that if there is a lag in such a situation there must be a term for it and observations of it historically.
