After reading through the threads, I still think that '.lan' is a better non-reserved suffix to use for this than '.internal'; however, my opinion rarely has significant weight in the grand scheme of things.
- dubcanada 3y agoDo you have a reason why you think '.lan' is better then '.internal' besides being shorter? I am curious why.

- m463 3y agoIt is already in use many places. Isn't it the default domain name for OpenWRT? Just like the default ip addresses are 192.168.*
- TkTech 3y agoAnd when you're using it to connect to devices not physically on your LAN, like servers reached via tailscale? `.internal` implies your internal network, however it may be setup, `.lan` implies your "local" area network.
