Post Office Protocol
- theamk 3y agoThat brings back memories of times when computers were expensive-ish and you might have one per family, maybe one per person if you were lucky. And it cost $25/month to host a 5 megabyte website. Back then, a protocol which kept all messages on the local computer made plenty of sense. I've used it for a long time, and then switched to IMAP when I got my first laptop. I don't think I've used POP3 for my primary emails ever since.
