We have to stop trying to make plastic recycling work, at least until it can actually work, because it seriously hurts the reputation of recycling other materials, most of which work great. It also complicates the entire process, depending on your jurisdiction, which also acts to deter recycling other materials.
- fransje26 3y agoWell, the "recyclable" plastics was a great lie pushed by the oil industry to counter regulations that would restrict their usage. That's fairly well documented by now. Maybe it's time to restrict/forbid their usage, like has been done for other products and chemicals that have turned out unhealthy and/or dangerous although highly profitable. (Asbestos, CFCs, leaded gas, tobacco, [...])
