"X could mark the end of Y" is a ridiculously outworn headline. It's practically the Betteridge's law of headlines for the tech industry.
- ben_w 3y agoThe internal combustion engine could mark the end of buggy whip manufacturers. I jest, but only a bit. New inventions can and do wipe out old sectors, but it's hard to tell in advance if you're seeing a real transition or a pointless flash in the pan, and people make mistakes in both directions.
