Amazing, the whole point of this exercise in stupidity was to not having to deal with OPEC's low cost of oil extraction ever again, only to end up in the hands of China's low cost of rare earths extraction and low cost of labor.
It already happened with solar panels. US, Germany and Japan subsidized the industry only to have China become the dominant player.

- chewz 3y agoChina is simply better at playing the long game. And good at engineering too. Blame it at short attention span of democracies.
- windexh8er 3y agoChina is not good at engineering. China is good at manufacturing. Those are two very different things.
