I'm just saying coding in C costs significant more human hours, literally.
- flohofwoe 3y agoThat also depends on the task at hand. Text processing in C with just the stdlib? Sure, waste of time. Number crunching via SIMD intrinsics? The best option for that is most likely C with compiler-specific extensions.
- pjmlp 3y agoAny programming language can have SIMD extensions, and in fact a couple of them do, nothing special about C in that regard. If anything it has been a pity that it didn't happen sooner, right away as SIMD became common.
