What annoys me is that the people who first promoted him, e.g. Andy Greenberg of Wired, were far from cryptography illiterates. I'm pretty sure they raised the profile of this fraud knowingly, out of a misguided effort to protect the privacy of the real Satoshi. This is why you don't do that!
