>Ignoring my general distrust of large-scale government regulation on a free market.
So, free market is fine until free market(the users that will install and use Chrome because it's better than Safari) does something you think it's bad.
- kingsleyopara 3y agoThat’s assuming the free market is what drives users to chrome and not: This browser is unsupported, switch to Chrome now
- rs_rs_rs_rs_rs 3y agoThis is not assuming anything, Chrome has the market share it has because it's an better browser than any alternative.
- amusingimpala75 3y agoYeah this is what I was intending. I don’t have a problem with individuals using Chrome (I think it’s a bad choice overall but it’s their choice). However “YouTube works best in Chrome” and “GMail works best in Chrome” because they depend on some tracking API, it’s not really the choice of the user anymore. Good thing WebDRM got delayed ‘cause I don’t want to install Chrome just to use my banking app.
- rs_rs_rs_rs_rs 3y agoChrome's market share it's not because Youtube does not work in Firefox/Safari(it works) or because of any scare tactics Google uses.
- amusingimpala75 3y agoI think that monopolies are generally bad for the user, but I don’t think that government regulation is the proper solution.
