Los Angeles needs more subway is what. Because everyone taking the subway is not driving a car. Also brings up the point that it's inexcusable San Francisco hasn't built out a mile or so of subway per year over the last 30 years.
- Axsuul 3y agoThat would only make sense for the most frequented routes but the remaining 80% would be challenging since each person has a unique point A and B across a sprawling metropolis. The "last mile" in Los Angeles is a different beast. Each subway route would only improve the commute for less than one percent of the population. A better way would be dedicated bus lanes but it still wouldn't be as efficient as driving due to the amount of transfers you would need.
- screye 3y agoLA seems perfect for a subway + scooters/bikes style combination. The weather is pleasant year round and solves the last mile problem. Public transportations agencies seem awfully reluctant to try out something new.
