By contrast, I don't think this is a good idea. Popping up an alert that puts a human in the loop when the title is modified might be good, but automatically reverting seems bad. If the system is unhelpful on average, we should lobby to have it changed rather than subverting it. Dan's reasonable, he'll listen to evidence.
- PaulHoule 3y agoI think that system is helpful on average but between YOShInOn and I we are already rewriting headlines to conform to HN requirements and expectations. Thus in the cases that our headlines are rewritten it is likely to be some failure case like decapitalizing an acronym.
