This is a good topic for everyone to consider (especially those under 30.)
Living our lives in real time we neglect that the flow of consciousness is actually a fleeting illusion. Our true selves are what lingers within, enduring over time.
It takes time to change ourselves (and it is well worth it to consciously take the time.)
To expand upon this, it actually takes much much longer to integrate knowledge, as opposed to simply "knowing" awareness of a topic. I assert to you that it takes THREE YEARS to truly integrate an idea into the cognitive framework of the mind, and up to ten years for true mastery of an idea.
Looking forward this seems ridiculous, yet anyone who has truly mastered anything will look back and agree. "Getting it" really takes years and becoming an extension of that comprehension takes much longer.
Habits are just the start!
