It will probably be 20-30 years before it goes away. But I think there will be a point where service providers that drop v4 support in their networks. At that point clients that need v4 connectivity can use 4-in-6 tunneling/VPNs. It will absolutely hang around in small private networks for 50 years (there's still some token ring networks out there)
