My team has been building systems integrations for years, and it's figuring out what the customers want, and dealing with bad, inconsistent data accumulated over decades that makes life hard. Moving these boring microservices that handle this data from on-prem to the cloud wouldn't solve any of our problems. Most of our customer-facing services also run with on-prem VM instances just fine.
