Don't get me started on toasters.
- JohnFen 3y agoNobody seems to make a good toaster at all anymore.
- eweise 3y agoAfter going through a bunch of toasters, I bought a Dualit and so far it been holding up. Hated to pay so much for a toaster though.
- bombcar 3y agoPartially because the "home toaster" is simply not used in commercial settings; they use a toaster over or one of those things that looks like a miniature pizza oven: https://www.webstaurantstore.com/14603/commercial-conveyor-toasters.html https://www.webstaurantstore.com/14603/commercial-conveyor-t... - the only place is at a buffet or similar in a hotel. But I bet that $500 toaster would last awhile. Would it last long enough to justify the price compared to whatever Walmart has?
- JohnFen 3y agoYes, the only good toasters I've been able to find are those commercial kitchen ones with the belt that moves the bread through. The thing is, though, that just a few decades ago even inexpensive consumer toasters were able to make decent toast. That no longer being the case is just weird and sad to me, and emblematic of a larger systemic problem.
- ryathal 3y agoGet a convection toaster oven and it handles toasting, baking, and air frying. A bespoke toaster is a waste of space.
