Cameroon starts world-first malaria mass vaccine rollout
- wsc981 3y agoOne thing I found interesting, when talking with a Zambian colleague at work, is that apparently malaria is not such a big deal in Zambia (except perhaps at younger ages). He told me he himself had malaria several times, just take some medicine (probably penicillin, can't remember), lay on the bed a couple of days and be ok. It makes me wonder if we really need a vaccine for this disease. I rather like the approach that is trialed elsewhere (South America?) where males that cannot generate offspring are sent out to mate with female mosquitos, thus preventing mosquito offspring.
