I just got back from Japan. What I find interesting is that when I was growing up in the 80s and 90s, it was seen as the pinnacle of technology. Now, they are still using fax machines everywhere, websites are using technologies from the early 2000s, and internet speeds are much slower than other places I've been. For example, Vietnam had higher public Wifi hotspot speeds.
