  - As for spying, I don't think any system could be considered safe, not just the Chinese (don't take nude pictures of yourself, don't hold sensitive conversations when your phone is with you, etc., and that's it) - I've never owned a Xiaomi, they are not the only Chinese Android brand either, but I hear similar complaints for western-made UIs all the time, too - No idea, all of my phones have been from the lower-tier, but getting a phone from a Western make doesn't mean it won't be assembled in China - Western bans: to me, that's a plus for Huawei, as you can get your Google-free smartphone without voiding your warranty and/or having to struggle with countless problems (i.e., LineageOS)
