Lamborghini are as much about bombast and marketing as they are about performance. MIT is a big name, sounds impressive etc etc... Whether the partnership will actually produce usable production-grade technology, is another matter. This said, the Italian Motor Valley seems to have finally steered towards electric. Ducati and Ferrari have had real electric programs for a few years now (although Ducati will likely work on synthetic fuels too), and there are even full-electric companies like Energica.
