Totally agree with this. I use https://github.com/larkery/zsh-histdb https://github.com/larkery/zsh-histdb slightly modified to work more smoothly for me. If I remember correctly, I tried Atuin but it messed up multi-line commands. Zsh-histdb handles them well.
