Right around the corner, just like it has been for the past five decades. I remain very skeptical about AI replacing programmers. Every revelation in software methodologies has lead to more complexity and replacing one kind of drudgery with more of another. Will AI change our profession? Sure, maybe, probably. Replace us? I don't see it happening anytime soon.
