For what it's worth I tried NordVPN in China recently and all the servers were blocked. Totally useless. But weirdly, when I connected to the internet over cell data on my phone, there was no blocking at all...
- patrakov 3y agoWas that a Chinese SIM or a foreign SIM in roaming? Hong Kong SIM cards are an effective way to circumvent the Chinese firewall, and, if you don't mind the prohibitive cost, they work against the Russian firewall, too.
- canjobear 3y agoAmerican SIM. I just turned on my phone and the whole internet was accessible (unless I connected to someone’s Wifi). I was surprised that it was so easy.
