If the restaurant has so many things on the menu where it's a cost savings to do this, there is no cooking real happening there. Everything is frozen and reheated .
Don't waste your time and money there.
- smt88 3y agoThis is always a cost-saver. Paper menus are never free, and they get filthy or damaged easily. You should see a QR code as indicating the opposite, actually: that the menu is refreshed often enough that paper is impractical.
- ok123456 3y agoLamination solves the problem of them getting dirty and damaged. The QR code thing happens more often than not at chain restaurants, which are just reheating frozen slop, rather than bistros that are changing their menu daily.
- smt88 3y agoLaminating menus is even more expensive and makes the problem worse. > The QR code thing happens more often than not at chain restaurants, which are just reheating frozen slop, rather than bistros that are changing their menu daily. This is the opposite of my experience. I can't think of a chain that uses them. Chains have enough money to print laminated menus, and their menus don't change.
