Internet killed Sports Illustrated long ago. When I was a teenager, Sports Illustrated was the only way to really learn about players and teams and sports. You didn’t care that the story about a team’s championship came a week after they won the game. The newspapers told you who won the day after, but SI told you why they won and how they won, with great pictures and top notch story tellers. In the age of the Internet, all the how/when/why was published within minutes of the game. Why wait a week to read in SI about a game you read about on ESPN.com 5 days ago and forgot about 4 days ago.
