I'm surprised that the US government owns so much land. Hasn't the US always tried to privatize everything?
- anticorporate 3y agoThis is actually just a small fraction of federal lands; about 3.4% of the 640 million federally owned acres. Most of what is today the United States was at one point or another purchased by the federal government, either willingly or forcefully, from its prior owner.
