I had the most curious experience when reading this article, or I should say listening to the embedded media. I have had tinnitus for a long time. I was unable to hear the tinnitus sample in this article even if I put the volume up on my phone (through my phone's main speaker). My partner was surprised I couldn't hear it as they sat right next to me. If I put the phone right up to my ear I was able to hear a high pitched tone with the same pitch as my normal tinnitus. However, after listening to the lenire sample 2 or 3 times then I was able to hear that tinnitus sample. Although, soon after, the tinnitus sample seemed to fade away in volume again.
