why is this seen as a problem? 20 years ago if someone in iraq/yemen/afghanistan/syria had said that USA and "allies" would be decimating their country, they would laugh at the thought or maybe they would have done something about it. sure but yeah'
- MattGaiser 3y ago20 years ago was 2004. The Iraq and Afghan wars were well underway at that point. A decade prior there was Iraq again. In the late 80s there was Operation Praying Mantis vs Iran, the largest US naval engagement since WW2. So anyone who would laugh at the thought would be out to lunch, then or now.
