Silly question. Of course it's safe to drink. It won't have bugs in it for a start.
Maybe it might need some treatment or other, but even simple distillation will make it drinkable. And plenty of solar energy on the Moon to do that easily.
- spcebar 3y agoDefinitely a little treatment, since it contains mercury and is highly corrosive. I assume there are also issues with certain filtration processes not performing as well in low gravity environments. This contest is a nice way to get the public involved and maybe come up with some novel ways of purifying water.
