In Germany, we learnt that resistance and rallys against the politics is typically futile. Thus, in the recent years in some circles in Germany it has become actually fashionable to speak "Politiker" (politician) in a tone as if you were speaking of a mass rapist or child abuser (and covertly do this word replacement in your head). Believe me: in some circles in Germany, the fury against the politicians of basically every party is insane. :-(
