The Life Span of Loneliness [video]
- carlosjobim 3y agoTo anybody reading: If you're lonely, consider changing your environment – at least for a while. Some towns, cities, regions and even whole countries are just lonely and miserable. So maybe it's not a problem with you? Maybe it's just your environment. That might sound crazy, but many times it's true. Do you owe it to anybody to stay put where you are and continue being lonely?
- carlosjobim 3y agoSince the original submission is not getting any traction or comments, I'll reply to myself. Traveling and staying at hostels is a very fine way to meet new people and not be lonely. The other guests at the hostel also want to meet new friends, that's why they're at a hostel! In many countries hostels will also have individual rooms, so that you won't have to bunk and sleep in discomfort. And most hostels have bars where you can strike up conversation with anyone. Don't worry if you're old, there's nothing strange with older people staying at hostels. And if the vibe is not good in the hostel you picked, you can just move on, as you always should do after a while. Are you too broke to travel and stay at hostels? Since you don't own any property, you can move anywhere for seasonal work and save up money. Your workmates will also be seasonal workers with no social network, looking for friends.
