Best case scenario: A reduced labor supply increases wages and quality of life for ordinary people.
Worst case scenario: Governments implement Logan's Run to maintain a reasonable dependency ratio.
- TheCoelacanth 3y agoHow would Logan's Run help with this? Killing people at 21 years old (or 30 if you prefer the movie) would lose close to 100% of working years while keeping 50% or more of the non-working years.
- FooBarBizBazz 3y agoI didn't have the movie's age threshold in mind, just the policy of getting rid of "old people", however defined. Realistically, this will happen -- is happening -- based not on an age threshold, but simply through the rationing of medical care, whether through the price mechanism or otherwise.
