- Jimmc414 3y agoOumuamua displayed high velocity and hyperbolic trajectory, with an eccentricity of 1.20 suggesting interstellar origin. It exhibited unusual acceleration in its trajectory, not solely attributable to gravitational forces hinting at possible outgassing, yet no cometary tail was detected The objects shape is elongated and cigar-like, featuring a non-principal axis rotation ie tumbling Despite nearing the sun Oumuamua did not show a coma, the typical atmosphere in warming comets
