Just last week I fully committed to Obsidian with the git sync plugin. It took some fiddling and a bit of trust to sync 4 years of notes. (Previously I was just using Sublime Text and my notes folder as a project hooked up to my gitea instance.) But now, its like second nature and I'm looking for neat plugins that you cant live with out.
- TSiege 3y agoCan you share a link to the git plugin you're referring to?
- llimllib 3y agoI use this one, and I presume they do too: https://github.com/denolehov/obsidian-git https://github.com/denolehov/obsidian-git
- rabbitofdeath 3y agoThis is the one - it works great. I also use it in iOS, but I needed to use the Working Copy workaround to get the initial sync complete. https://forum.obsidian.md/t/mobile-setting-up-ios-git-based-syncing-with-mobile-app-using-working-copy/16499 https://forum.obsidian.md/t/mobile-setting-up-ios-git-based-...
- jmhammond 3y agoDoes the obsidian-git plugin run reliably on iOS? I have a license for Working Copy, so I use that alone with shortcuts, but I’m always interested in a solution with fewer parts.
- rabbitofdeath 3y agoIt does so far - I have not had more than 3 or 4 commits in a single push though so it hasn't broken for me yet. The notes said that if you do have many changes it can run out of memory due to the git plugin it is using.
