Validating my idea for a possible SaaS, QrMe
Well, in the last few days I had an idea inspired by Pieter Levels' project, QrMenu, where you use Markdown to create a restaurant menu and share a QrCode of it. I thought, what if I just did this for a personal business card?
Well, that's exactly the idea, you could create a business card using Markdown and share your qrcode.
The features I thought of were: profile photo + wallpaper, Spotify integration (like Instagram for music, and this would be for premium payers), enhance, summarize, generate files and resumes based on profile using AI (this would be premium too , and yes, there has to be AI in some form hahahah)
It was a spontaneous idea and I thought it was interesting, but I don't know if anyone would pay for it.
It would be a simple way to share your information legally.
What do you think of the idea? would there be users? and most importantly, of course, would anyone pay for it?
Give me feedback and ideas to improve this if needed.
Ah, I thought of a slogan perhaps: "Make me a Qrcode"
Thanks!
- BandButcher 3y agoGreat idea! However i think your initial concept might blow up into something much bigger and technically challenging. You want it to be a QR code to link to a business card/personal bio/ai biz helper. Also, although i do believe many people want this, there is already TONS of competition. Social media apps all kinda have this (profile page), tiktok and Instagram make heavy use of apps/integrations such as linktree to facilitate off site marketing. Furthermore LinkedIn is unfortunately the de facto "business card" for most people and companies. Again you can totally create an experience that tops these tech companies but it wont be easy imo and will require a bit more than a single markdown file. Also one major question i have is how will users share their qr code? By sending the qr image as a text? Maybe as a post on social media?? (if so how can i scan the qr if im viewing it on my phone - just send me the direct link). Bless

Not a "social network" per se. But maybe this “QrMe” idea is not the best marketing strategy. Honestly, I liked the idea initially because I could use markdown to create the profile and merge AI in some way. Thanks again!
