This could be a stretch here, but it could reduce the amount of repetitive strain injury caused by having to needlessly press 'shift' all the time with your weakest finger?
- stevekemp 3y agoIf you press it often enough that will no longer be your weakest finger! That said I guess it depends a lot on the kind of keyboard/editor you have. On my Finnish layout I can press '<' without the need for shift, and the closing symbol will almost certainly be auto-entered by my editor.
- solardev 3y agoI visited Finland a couple of times and it's such a cool country with a unique language! Why is < given so much importance in your layout? What do Finnish people typically use that symbol for? And what happens to the key it normally shifts (the comma, I think, in en-US)?
- stevekemp 3y agoI'm an immigrant here, and I agree :) As for the layout, I have no idea sadly. The keyboard looks like this though - you'll see an extra key next to the left-shift with those symbols on it: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:KB_Finnish_Multilingual.svg https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:KB_Finnish_Multilingual...
