Canada likes SPOF bridges. There's a single bridge - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nipigon_River_Bridge https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nipigon_River_Bridge - that is the only paved land path between the eastern and western parts of Canada. When that bridge is out, people have to drive through the United States to get from Montreal to Vancouver.
