- rootusrootus 3y agoIs that with functioning emissions controls, or without?
- wkat4242 3y agoThose weren't affected by dieselgate
- systems_glitch 3y agoCorrect, not a "we cheated on the emissions" model.
- dontlaugh 3y agoMy Peugeot 207 was doing up to 60 mpg (UK). Newer small diesel cars beat that easily.
- systems_glitch 3y agoI wish we could get them in the USA :/
- dontlaugh 3y agoSurely you get small petrol cars. My petrol VW Polo manages up to 50 mpg (UK, different gallons).
- _yb2s 3y agoThat's a decades newer engine design, in a smaller vehicle, and a much smaller engine. I'm not sure if everyone here realizes this is a late 70s or early 80s Volvo. The late 70s/ early 80s Volvo diesel uses a 6 cylinder version of the VW 4 cylinder engine used in the old Golf/Jetta, and is a historical precursor to the more efficient engine in your TDI. It was incredibly advanced and efficient for its time- it's competition, the Mercedes 300TD wagon, only got 22mpg at the time, and gasoline station wagons of that size would be lucky to get 15mpg.
