I'm still not convinced that these languages are not an evolved prank

  Good point, also not convinced while following the topic. I also received an APL manual from an economist using APL in the 70/80s. It was a gift. Regarding interesting programming paradigms I am biased toward SMTs and things alike where you just specify your problem and a solution and tests are generated. Not saying that you can build a big part of a system using logic now but I think will be evolving to more areas of expertise in the future. In a way, from a software engineer point of view, I see AI in the same vein: a black box that could produce interesting results for speeding up software development.
