  I think the approach was chosen partly for its lack of moving/digital/energy-needing parts.

    My approach saves more energy. This one has the camera continuously running and feeding light to the sensor or film. Mine is just taking a picture once per day.

      What camera - the hole in the paper/...? There's no active electronics here, also no timekeeping ("once per day")
