I would be more scared of military, political and big corporations AIs, that they have the (computing/development) power and the means to be really dangerous, both because it will the will of the ones working with them, or because their "owners" could eventually be manipulated (in the case of some godlike AI, at least). And they won't be regulated, almost by definition. Having a more powerful AI than everyone else is an strategic advantage.
