AI pillows and toothbrushes – is it all getting a bit silly?

  Much of this is probably more "hype slip streaming". They did it with "VR/Metaverse", they did it with "High Def" .. whenever a buzzword flies high enough it attracts parasitic uses.

      "3DTV" didn't stretch that far. "3d printing" certainly did. "3d printed food! 3d printed houses! 3d printed surgery!" and on and on. of course the reality is interesting and fun, but consider. as a species we have yet to individualize 2d printing in a reliable, commodity way. Adding a whole other dimension to the problem space is going to take time to make it work.

    It’s all marketing. Once the marketing people embraced the new AI hype, we’ll see soon a lot of “AI functionality” in any way one could imagine (silly including :)). A hanger with AI? Sure! Your desk stand with some AI? Of course!
