Let's just take a step back and realize this article (the blog post) is not peer reviewed and uses generally emotionally charged or accusatory language towards the authors. Even if it's correct, it does not meet the same publication bar as the original paper. We also have comments from the original authors which challenge the claims made here. The two pieces of writing are not on the same playing field. Honestly, that's enough red flags to dismiss this blog post as "not convincing enough, more work needed".
