To be completely fair, their plug-in is still freely available. After being kicked off by unfair and unreasonable (uncompetitive?) practices, it's not unreasonable to say "hey they suck so we are doing our own thing over here". If someone robs you it's not unethical to set up shop elsewhere. Asking for money for support is entirely reasonable as well.
