It's one of my go-to models (for checking the weather, not for computing the results myself!), I didn't know that most meteo stuff runs on FORTRAN. In my experience with data-science and engineering code.. well, the fiery gauntlet of getting a large old project to run in a new place might not be the language's fault, but be related to the goals of the folks who first set it up.
