We used the childcare at Patagonia when I was there prior to COVID. I believe it was run at a loss, the staff was excellent, student/teacher ratio was really great and there was an emphasis on bilingual instruction. It was affordable — Google could do the same if they cared. I imagine they don't.
- ChatGTP 3y agoPatagonia and Google seem like, very very different companies with very different motives to me. Did you enjoy working there?
- cdme 3y agoI really did — the culture is very much true to the public perception, as are the founders. Losing access to the campus during COVID was heartbreaking though. I moved on to a more technologically-focused role with higher compensation but I look back on the time fondly.
