Even if you're skimping on marketing it's still going to be at least equal to half the production budget. Additionally, theaters take a cut of the box office revenue. Domestically they usually take about half, internationally the average is about 60%. Edit: Looking at the numbers, Elemental probably only broke even or made a slight profit.
