It's a bigger issue in the South Bay because these tech offices are in huge office-only zones that take a long time to get in or out of. Back when I worked there, I was so glad lunch was on-prem for the same reason, and would've been glad even if I had to pay for it. Kinda creepy how they're like company towns, though.
