And what an opinion too.
Seriously, anyone that has used an AI assistant for coding or content generation understands the huge time saving implications of this tech moving forward. It's an amazing tool, there are so many ways we can save time and energy as is - if most of 24 was spent by people just getting a handle on what AI can do rn, it would still be a good year for AI.
- thegrim33 3y agoApparently I'm not "anyone" then. The time savings is lost by having to constantly judge and evaluate whether what the LLM gave me is actually correct or not, handles all edge cases or not. If you don't care at all about correctness and completeness, sure you can just mostly blindly use its output and save lots of time, but that's not me.
- rockemsockem 3y agoWhat are you using it for? I never use GPT-4's output blindly, in fact I almost never copy paste output, but I find it fantastically useful.
- wanderingstan 3y agoSame. Often it’s just as simple as not recalling the syntax for some technique. Hell, just the time savings in asking it to write regular expressions for me! I can see if it’s correct far faster than I could compose the expression myself.
- NemoNobody 3y agoThis will quickly less and less relevant as AI itself is incorporated to solving this problem.
