Fossil fuels are so weird to me. Like any strategy game you play you always get two types of resources, one that is finite and one later that is relatively infinite. And the goal is always to reach the second type of resource ASAP.
I guess we're still churning away at that tech tree. ;)
- abirch 3y agoI wish we would do more nuclear fusion until we get fission
- exe34 3y agoYes, more solar is great! But we already have working fission!
- arccy 3y agomany strategy games just give you a magic generic pool of resources you can draw from, which isn't the case irl where you have to store, distribute, load shift, etc. to match supply
- Inscryption 3y agoIt's a bit pompous to imply real life is anything like an RTS game, the latter of which removes a lot of tedious, real-world restrictions. But enjoy your smug attitude as you sit back and know better than people working in the energy field.
- teaearlgraycold 3y agoThey’re not being smug. They’re just being goofy
- p1mrx 3y agoFossil fuels are effectively infinite, because we'll hit the temperature cap and end the game before they're depleted. Then we can start the next game, but it's less fun and has fewer players.
- MaxHoppersGhost 3y agoThis is fear mongering. The world isn’t going to end due to climate change.
- cbsmith 3y agoFossil fuels are effectively infinite if they last for the entire length of the game.
