Even for someone who doesn't really want a yard, what I do not want is for others to have a say in the value of my largest asset. I probably would prefer condo living for whenever I buy a property, but the tendency of many to defer maintenance is a dealbreaker as they would also have a say. So I am going to buy a detached home as that is the only way for me to fully decide the maintenance of my property.
